Add and Edit Image Alt text in Shopify Theme Editor


Want to change your image alt texts in pages other than product, collection, landing pages? This guide will show you how to add and edit image alt text for specific sections such as logo, banner, hero banner. 


First, you need to open your Shopify theme editor. Go to ‘Sales channels’  >  ‘Online store’  >  ‘Themes’  >  ‘Customize’. 



Next, select a page that has the images you want to add or edit alt texts.



On the right panel, choose the section including images you want to add alt texts to. 


For example: Choose ‘Header’ to add or edit image alt text for the logo. Click on the pencil icon to go to the image edit section. 



Here, type in your image alt text. You can also use the alt text suggestion from Shopify. 


You can add or edit other image alt texts in other sections similarly. 



Once you finish, click ‘Save’ to update changes.
