Completely uninstall/remove Tapita Page Builder from your Shopify store

1. Switch back to free-plan (Optional)

It does not hurt to keep Tapita around. We constant update our products so it could very well suit you when the time comes.

Please note that all pages and data built with Tapita will be deleted immediately. Your account will no longer have access to Tapita dashboard to edit your built pages.

We would really love if you can reconsider your decision and contact us to switch back to your free plan (best in the market)

2. Delete Tapita pages

In Shopify Admin > Online Store > Pages, select the pages that you want to remove and click More actions > Delete pages.



3. Revert your old homepage (if you used Tapita to build home page)

From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit code.



From the search bar, type “index“. Click on the index.liquid or index.json file that comes up under Templates and click Delete file.

You will notice that there is another “index” file containing “.tapitabk.old”. Rename this file to remove the “.tapitabk.old” part.

4. Remove Tapita files

From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit code.


Then, search for “tapita” and delete all files.


If you also install Tapita SEO & Speed Optimizer app, please do not delete these files:
  1. tapita-page-speed.liquid
  2. tapita-page-speed-status.liquid
  3. tapita-seo-schema.liquid
  4. tapita-schema-config.json
  5. tapita-meta-data.json



If you have created any Tapita Widget (Top Bar, Popup, Section), then do the extra step below:

Search for the file "header.liquid" and find this part:

{% render "tapita-header-editor" %}

Delete it and click Save.



5. Uninstall Tapita from your store

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.
  2. In the row of the app that you want to uninstall, locate Tapita Page Builder, click Delete.
  3. In the message that appears, click Delete.
