How to test your Meta Data Templates

How to test your Meta Data Templates

Meta Data Templates is a feature in Tapita SEO & Speed Optimizer app that helps you create general templates for meta title and meta description to apply to all of your products, collections, or blog pages.

After you have configured and enabled Meta Data Templates in Tapita, you can use the methods below to test if it works.
This tool requires you to integrate Google Search Console for your site (which we always recommend)

In Google Search Console, click URL Inspection.

Enter the URL of the page you want to check and press Enter.

On the inspection result page, click Test Live URL.

Then, click View Tested Page.

On the "HTML" tab, click the search icon and search for title and meta description to see if they are correct.

As you can see on the result screenshots above, the title and meta description for the sample product page are correct as per configured in Tapita.

Option 2: Using Google Rich Results Test Tool

This method does not require a Google Search Console account, so you can use it to check any websites, even if you are not the owner of the site.

Go to Rich Results Test tool. Enter the URL of the page you want to test. Then click Test URL.

On the result page, click View Tested Page.

On the "HTML" tab, click the search icon and search for title and meta description to see if they are correct.

Option 3: Using metatags.io

You can also use this third-party tool that has the ability to show meta title and meta description, and also how your website will show when shared on social platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.

Why can't I see the meta data templates that I configured showing up on Google?

This is because Google does not always use the meta title and meta description on your pages to show on search results. In many cases, they will use a different content of the page to show if they determine that such content is more relevant to the user's search query.
