LLMs.txt Guideline
LLMs.txt is an emerging web standard that helps AI systems understand and navigate your website more effectively. This structured file format delivers essential background information, clear guidance, and direct links to your most important content, all organized in a way that AI engines and automated tools can easily read and process.
Adding LLMs.txt files
Firstly, when you open the LLMs.txt menu, this screen will appear:
If this is your first time using this feature, no items will appear yet. To get started, click the “Add New” button to submit your LLMs.txt file.
Before you begin, please carefully review the following guidelines.
Step 1:
On this page, you can choose how pages are added. There are two options:
- Let Tapita decide (available for all plans): Pages will be selected automatically by Tapita. Manual selection is not available.
- Select manually (available for paid plans only): You can choose which pages to include.
>> The number of limitations of the selected pages will depend on your account plan: Free (Max 50 pages), Basic (Max 150 pages), Standard (Max 400 pages), Advanced (Max 1000 pages), and Yearly (5000 pages)
Step 2:
This second screen displays the descriptions of the pages you've added. Tapita SEO & Speed will automatically crawl your website to fetch available page descriptions. If any pages are missing descriptions, a warning message will appear at the top, as shown in the example below.
To add a missing description, click the “Add” button in the Description column. An Update Description box will appear, allowing you to either type in your description or generate one using AI.
>> After entering the description—either manually or using AI—click “Save” to instantly update the content.
One standout feature of the Tapita SEO & Speed app is "Bulk AI Generate Description". This allows you to select specific pages and re-generate their descriptions in bulk by clicking the highlighted button below.
Step 3:
In the third step, you'll see a management panel for your LLMs.txt content. Here, you can preview the content and click “Publish” to make it available to AI engines. Alternatively, hover over the “More” button to save or download your LLMs.txt file.
Auto-update LLMs.txt files
On all paid plans, you can enable "Auto-update" LLMs.txt files by toggle this feature ON. This will automatically update all changes on your pages in PUBLISHED LLMs.txt files, while draft files stay unchanged. Save your time creating new LLMs.txt files.
When you upgrade to a higher plan, LLMs.txt file auto-update #pages included. In case there are pages missing description for LLMs.txt, a banner will appear in dashboard after 12 hours to remind you to add descriptions to these pages.
When you change description of a page, LLMs.txt file auto-updates the content of that page. When you downgrade, LLMs.txt auto-update #pages included as well.
