Option Displays Guide

This guide covers everything you can configure on the Option displays page: Apps > G: Color Swatch > Option displays.

Syncing Your Store Data

At the top of the page, under the Sync options tab, you'll see Sync store data.

This pulls your options and option values (e.g. Color: Red/Blue/Black, Size: S/M/L) from your store's products into the app, so they show up correctly in the table below and in the swatch/style pickers.

  • The page shows Last synced: X hours ago so you always know how fresh the data is.
  • Click Sync Now any time you add a new option or a new option value to your products — and you won't be able to configure the style for these options.

Understanding the Option Table

Below the sync section is the main table, listing every option currently synced from your products:

ColumnWhat it shows
Option nameThe option as set on your products (e.g. Color, Size).
ImpactHow many products use this option. Click the number to see the affected product list.
Display on Product PageThe style used to show this option on the product page (e.g. Swatch Polaroid, Button).
Display on Collection PageThe style used on collection pages
LayoutHow the values of this option are grouped and arranged (Default, Tab, or Stack, explained below).

Impact Products view

Once you click on the number under Products (in the Impact column), a list of products that have this option will appear.

From here, you can:

- Click the eye icon to open that product's storefront link.
- Click the product title to open that product's settings in Shopify admin.

Choosing a Display Style (Product Page & Collection Page)

For each option, you can independently set the style shown on the Product Page and on the Collection Page.

  1. In the row for the option you want to change, click the dropdown under Display on Product Page or Display on Collection Page.

      2. A Select appearance window opens. Use the All / Swatch / Button / Dropdown tabs at the top to filter, then pick a style from the list — each one shows a live preview using your real option values on the right.

      3. Click Select to confirm.

For the Collection Page column specifically, besides the option styles (Button, Swatch, etc.), you'll also see 2 additional choices at the top of the list:

    • Do not show: the option won't appear on collection pages at all.
    • Same as product page: automatically mirrors whatever style you chose for the product page, so you don't have to configure it twice.

      4. Click Select to save your choice.

Assigning Swatch Colors & Images (Color-Type Options)

For an option that uses a swatch style (like Color), you can control exactly what each swatch looks like, instead of relying on the product's variant image by default.

      1. Once you choose a swatch type (Swatch Polaroid, Swatch Square, etc.), in the option's row, click the small swatch/paint icon next to the Display on Product Page dropdown.

      2. This window lists every value of that option (e.g. Black, Dawn, Electric, Ice) with its own Swatch type, Source, and Preview. Use the search box at the top to quickly find a specific value if the list is long.

      3. For each value, choose one of three swatch types from the dropdown:

Variant image (Default): Uses the image already set on that product variant, no extra setup needed.

Custom Color

Click + in the Source column to open the color picker, then either drag on the color panel or type a Hex code / R, G, B values.

You can add more than one color to the same value by clicking + again, you can add up to 9 colors. The Preview will show a split circle combining all the colors you've added. Click the x on a color chip to remove it.

Custom Image

Click the upload icon in the Source column, then either paste an image URL or click upload here to add a file from your computer. The preview updates once an image is set.

      4. Once every value looks right in the Preview column, click Save configurations.

Setting Up Layout

The Layout column controls how the values of an option are arranged when there are many of them — for example, splitting Sizes into "Men" and "Women" groups instead of one long list. This helps customers quickly navigate to the category they belong to and choose the right variant more easily.

  1. Click the Layout value in the option's row (e.g. "Default") to open the Layout window.

      2. Choose one of three layouts:

Default: All option values are shown together in a single list. No grouping.

Setting Up Tab or Stack Sub-Options

If you choose Tab (Sub-options) or Stack (Sub-options), you'll need to create at least one sub-option group and assign values to it:

      1. Click + Add new under SUB-OPTIONS.

      2. Type a name for the group (e.g. "Men") and click Add.

      3. In the Search and select values field, check the specific values that belong to this group (e.g. sizes 7–11 for "Men").

       4. The group now shows its assigned values as removable tags. You can edit (pencil icon) or delete (trash icon) the group, and repeat + Add new to create more groups (e.g. a second "Women" group).

      5. Once all your groups are set up, click Save configurations.

The preview panel on the right always shows how the final result will look, as tabs for the Tab layout, or as stacked sections for the Stack layout:

You're All Set!
Now you know how to configure your option styles with the app — showing swatches for Color options, buttons for Size options, and more, plus adjusting the layout to showcase your options in the best light. This helps customers navigate and identify options more easily, so they can make their buying decision faster.
