Setting up Proactive Chat Campaigns

Proactive Chat helps you start conversations before shoppers leave.
Instead of waiting for visitors to ask questions, your store reaches out at the right moment—welcoming visitors, recommending products, recovering carts, and driving more sales automatically.

You control when messages appear, who sees them, and what they say, based on real shopper behavior.

Click “Create” to choose a chat template. 

Types of Proactive Chat Campaigns

1. Welcome Visitors Campaign

Use this campaign to greet new visitors, reduce bounce rate, and encourage first interaction as soon as they land on your store.

General Settings

Proactive chat name
Enter a name to identify this campaign (visible only to you).

Activate proactive chat
Toggle ON to display this campaign on your storefront.


Trigger

The message appears when a visitor opens your homepage and meets one of these conditions:

Visitor has viewed the page for (seconds)
Example: 2 seconds

Visitor has scrolled to a percentage of the page
Example: 50%


Conditions (Audience Control)

Choose who will see this message:

All: Show to everyone.

Only visitors: Show only to shoppers who haven’t purchased yet.

Only customers: Show only to returning customers.

Display Time

All time: Show anytime.

During business hours: Show only during your business hours (or when an agent is online).


Message

Message content: Enter the message shown to visitors.

Hi 👋 Welcome to our store!
Looking for something specific? I’m happy to help.

Example 2
Hey there! 😊
Let me know if you need help choosing the right product.

Use the preview pane to check how the message looks on desktop and mobile.

Click Create campaigns to publish it on your store.

2. Subscribe Newsletter Campaign

This campaign helps you grow your email list by inviting visitors to subscribe—without disrupting their shopping experience.

General Settings

Proactive chat name
Example: Subscribe Newsletter
(Visible only to you)

Activate proactive chat
Toggle ON to enable this campaign.

Trigger

Send message after

Visitor has viewed the page for
Example: 2 seconds

Visitor has scrolled to a percentage of the page

Send message on

All pages
or

Specific pages
Choose one or more pages where this message appears.

Conditions 

Configure the same way as the Welcome Visitors Campaign.

3. Product Recommendation Campaign

Use this campaign to surface relevant products while shoppers browse, increasing discovery and average order value.

General, Trigger, and Conditions: Configure the same as the Subscribe Newsletter Campaign.

Product Card Settings

Show price
Toggle ON to display product prices.

Show “View product” button
Toggle ON to let shoppers open product pages easily.

Product Section

Choose how products are selected:

Show new arrival products: Automatically recommend newly added products.

Show random products: Display random products from your store.

Show specific products: Select unlimited products manually.

Recommendation priority applies—the first product added appears first.

4. Cart Booster Campaign

This campaign helps recover abandoned carts by reminding shoppers to complete their purchase after adding items.

General Settings, Conditions, and Display Time

Configure the same as the Welcome Visitors Campaign.

Trigger

When visitor adds a product to their cart

Minimum cart value
Example: USD 5 (uses your store’s default currency)
Set to 0 for no minimum.

Send message after

Visitor has viewed the page for
Example: 2 seconds

Let me know if you have questions or need recommendations.

5. Preset Message Campaign

Preset messages let you show announcements or CTAs without opening a direct chat reply—perfect for promotions and quick nudges.

General Settings and Trigger

Configure the same as the Welcome Visitors Campaign, but without a direct chat reply.

Use preset messages to highlight CTAs, promotions, or updates while keeping the shopping flow smooth.

Edit Proactive Chat Campaigns

Edit or Disable Campaigns

Click the “…” button next to any campaign to edit or disable it.

Campaign Priority

Priority controls which chat appears first.

Smaller number = higher priority
A campaign with priority 1 shows at the top.

Drag campaigns to reorder their position.

Display Settings

Open the app settings, scroll down to Proactive Recommendation Chat Display

Choose how multiple proactive recommendation chat bubbles are displayed on your storefront

List (Stack)
Campaigns appear one below another.

Carousel
If multiple campaigns of the same type are active, they display as a swipeable carousel.

This setup helps you control timing, relevance, and visibility, so shoppers see helpful messages—not distractions.
