Translating your Tapita Page

Translating your Tapita Page

In the newest update, we have release a completely new feature call Translation. What it does is that it will help Tapita's user to translate their created pages to the language that they choose. The target languages are pulled from your current Shopify settings. So for the example we are having here, the store has 5 languages: English, French, German, Japanese and Vietnamese. In the future if they decide to create more language for the store, it will be automatically added here in the dashboard.

Adding a translation

Preparation

  1. Please publish every single page that you need to be translated.
  2. Please create all of your required page before starting the translation to save time. The system will translate all pages at once every time.
  3. Please add more than one language to your store in order for the system to translate to. Otherwise you will run to an error such as below

  4. Please go to Theme settings and enable Tapita Collection, Tapita Product Detail & Tapita Translation.

How to translate

Step 1: Select your current Tapita page language (Please keep in mind that this is the language in your created Tapita pages rather than the whole website or other pages not created by Tapita)

Step 2:  Select your target language that you want your page to be translated to

Step 3: Click Translate and wait for all published page to be translated.
NOTE: During the translation, please do not turn off your tab.  The process may take up to 30 minutes, so please leave your web browser on during that time.

Step 4: Once the system finished the translation, you can have access to every words that the pages have in each page.

Step 5: If there is any words translated incorrectly according to your preferences, simply edit it in the Result column. You will notice the button changes from Translate to Save, indicating that you are just changing this line only rather than running the whole translation process again

Step 6: If you have more than one page, please use the Filter option to locate to your desired page .

Step 7: Click Save to finish the editing.

Re-translation process

For any reason that you would want to run the translation process again, you can always click the button Translate. This will prompt you to 2 options

  1. Only untranslated words: This will translate only unedited words. Meaning any words that has been edited  by you manually will not be affected.
  2. Re-translate all words: This process will reset every thing that you have done in your translation. So please chose this with precaution.
